New Site, New Opportunities

So, it’s been a while

I’ve missed you guys. BUT I have sourly needed some time to myself *without* the invasion of social media. I’ve even – temporarily – left Facebook. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of snapping open your laptop, loading Firefox and realizing two seconds before you double-click that your mouse is hovering over that little F icon on your toolbar. Oh yeah. No Facebook. You sigh and hit “refresh” on your email. No wonder I never get everything done.

Opening Facebook as soon as I open my browser has become a bad habit for me, and I often find myself sucked in to my newsfeed. This has, naturally, made it difficult to be productive. So, I am taking a two week reprieve to try to rid myself of the habit.

New Website in the Works

You may have noticed that I’ve also been a little quiet on my blog lately. The main reason for that has been a crazy work schedule the last couple months, but lately I’ve also been taking a web design class online at Cape Fear Community College. I do so many web-based projects, that I’d like to create a website to act as a landing page for all of them – to explain who I am and what I do. WordPress has been great these past two years – for a free blogging app & hosting you can’t ask for better – but I’m ready to step up my game and transfer my site to something slightly more professional (and to explore the possibilities of making money online).

Exciting new Opportunities

I’ve recently been accepted as a contributor to WhatCulture!, and I plan to do additional guest-blogging elsewhere in order to improve my reach. On my new site, I intend to make my blog more navigable, and I’d like to include downloadable travel itineraries pertaining to different destinations.

Anyway, there is a lot on the horizon, so keep your eyes peeled! Thanks for bearing with me in the meantime.

  1. Hey there exceptional website! Does running a blog such
as this require a great deal of work? I’ve virtually no knowledge of coding
but I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future. Anyways, should you
have any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share.
I understand this is off subject nevertheless I simply wanted to ask.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. Sorry this reply is delayed, I’ve been a little all over the place. Believe it or not, this blog requires zero coding knowledge. It’s hosted for free at The only thing I pay for is my domain name. I’d encourage you to check out and explore all the options available for bloggers there. There are also a ton of free themes available that will lend your site a sleek design with menus, etc. Hope this helps! Good luck with the site :)
